first_imgWEATHER ALERT: Met Eireann has issued an urgent weather warning as torrential rain is set to hit Donegal.Donegal has been issued with a status ‘Yellow Warning’ as forecasters have predicted a deluge of heavy downpours is set to batter the county tomorrow.Motorists have been urged to drive with extreme caution, and have been advised not to undertake any unnecessary journeys if possible. Weather experts are predicting heavy rain (40-60mm) throughout the day tomorrow and tomorrow night, which will likely result in localised flooding in some areas.Other counties set to be affected by the torrential rain are Dublin, Louth, Wexford, Wicklow, Meath and Monaghan, Cavan and Donegal.STATUS YELLOW – BE ALERTThe concept behind YELLOW level weather alerts is to notify those who are at risk because of their location and/or activity, and to allow them to take preventative action.
