first_imgRelated The national U20 female team, Falconets, will face South Africa in the final qualifiers for the World Cup after they taught Morocco some footballing lessons with a 5-1 thrashing in their 2nd leg clash at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City.With the first leg in Morocco deadlocked at 1-1, the team raced into a two goal lead through Rasheedat Ajibade and Gift Monday within 15 minutes before goalkeeper Onyinyechukwu Okeke handed the Morrocans a lifeline as her mistake was punished by Fatima Tagnaout on the stroke of halftime.The girls from Morocco were still in the game at 2-1 with 13 minutes left but Charity Reuben’s goal put the game beyond the Moroccans paving the way for further goals from Rasheedat Ajibade and Gift Monday in added time as the Falconers secure a comprehensive 5-1 victory and a 6-2 aggregate win.The team will now face the Basetsana of South Africa for one of the two places up for grabs in Africa ahead of the U20 World Cup next year. The South Africans thrashed Burundi 5-0 in the 2nd leg to seal a 5-2 win on aggregate and will face Nigeria at home in the first leg on January 12, 2018 before the second leg in Benin City two weeks later.last_img
